Performed in the Saint James Theatre as a highlight of the 2005 Wellington Arts Festival the Inside Out Production of Thomas Mann’s ‘The Holy Sinner’ called for a fusion of medieval, industrial and strongly physical design.
The intense physical nature of this production, the visionary tableaus and the shunning of traditional theatre staging techniques was a dramatic opportunity to create a new and exiting spectacle full of original design ideas.
“..While the play is memorably engaging on all levels, it owes a large portion of it’s success to it’s wild visual impact. The impressive stagecraft, energetic special effects.. ..Grant Major amazed the audience by stretching the boundaries of what exactly is possible within the walls of a theatre.“
