The Emperor

10 days at the conclusion of World War 2 and General McArthurs’s decision to either charge Emperor Hirihito with war crimes or absolve him of responsibility, a tense drama set in the highs of the Imperial Palace and the lows of fire bombed Tokyo streets.

It was a great challenge to reproduce this place and period with it’s exotic blend of victorious Americana and deep Japanese culture which provided a terrific backdrop to this historic event.
